Some of you have been asking me what life is like down here in Georgia and at Center for Global Action (CGA), so I thought I’d share a day in the life!

**Please note: This isn’t an exact, specific day in my life. It’s a general day with different events/classes from the past week and a half, just to paint you an overall picture of CGA life. Not featured: trying to find a part-time job, CGA leadership track class time, meeting with discipler, etc.

7:00 a.m.  Wake up, feel super cozy in bed, force self out of bed.

7:15-8:20 Time with God.

8:20-8:40 Have mid-life crisis over what I should wear for the day, get ready, decide who of our roomies is driving to the Adventures in Missions (AIM) campus today (carpooling!)

8:41 Run back inside to get water bottle.

8:43-8:50 Jam to Avril Lavigne with the roomies while driving to campus.

8:55-9:00 Hug as many CGA friends as possible.

9:00-10:20 All AIM Staff worship! Brief inspirational/challenging talk from Seth Barnes from senior leadership on moving from inward focus to outward focus.

10:20-10:25 Say hello to AIM staff friends and rush off to the lodge for CGA class.

10:25-11:00 Mason gives talk on setting goals and the there-here-path theory.

11:00-11:15 Individual time to set two majors goals and milestones for the year at CGA. Set my first goal to be fully funded by the end of January. Make milestones of sending out letters and calling.

11:15-11:20 Hesitantly ask Mason about how to make my second goal, “be more comfortable with public speaking”, achievable.  Mason convinces me to read a book on TED talks, write a speech, and present a TED talk to the AIM staff in January.

11:20-11:25 Go back to seat and question why in the world I agreed to give a TED talk.  Worry that I might throw up on stage from nerves.

11:25-11:30 Give my worries and fears to God. Commit by writing down my second goal to give a TED talk to the AIM staff in January.

11:30-11:40 Meet with my two CGA roomies, Liz and Tanja, to discuss our goals and milestones. Talk about how to hold each other accountable.

11:40-12:00 Travis talks on time management actually being agreement management. Challenges us to write down everything we’ve agreed to do this week whether with ourselves or others. Prioritize agreement list

12:00-12:40 Lunch time! Meet with leadership track team to debrief last Friday’s Leadership track activities. Discuss the balance between being task-focused and people-focused while completing and leading activities.

12:40-1:00 Go to woods by myself. Sit on a rock and look at the rolling hills of Georgia. Talk to God about how my day has been. Get briefly distracted by a cool bug.

1:00-2:30 Deon from AIM senior leadership visits class to talk on God’s character being predictable and what He does being unpredictable. Ardently take notes. Mind blown.

2:30-2:40 Break time! Chat with CGA friends.

2:40-3:50 Watch David Platt’s session 1 of “Secret Church: How to Study the Bible”

3:50-5:00 Travis teaches on how we will be studying the Bible together this year. Takes us through the story of Noah as an example.

5:15-5:27 Drive to Laurel Park to meet CGA friends for training for the Chick-Fil-A Half Marathon we are running on April 1st, 2017.

5:40 Run! Enjoy for the first mile. Feel like I’m dying the last two miles.

6:20 Discuss how the run went for everyone. High fives for accomplishing the first training day!

6:35-7:20 Eat delicious meatball subs and talk about life with roomies during family dinner.

7:25-8:40 Roomies gather in the living room and talk about how life has been. Finish the night off with puns!
